Commemoration of 79th Anniversary of D Day Landings at Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery.
The service started Standards and Escorts from Stockport Sea Cadets. Family members and friends of our Stockport Veterans talked for 2 minutes (with a photograph of Veteran) about their veteran’s role during the Battle of Normandy.

The veterans’ stories were followed by an invitation to the guests of honour to contribute: Paul Brearley JP (Deputy Lieutenant for Greater Manchester) and the Mayor of Stockport (Cllr Graham Greenhalgh). The commemoration ended with Last Post, Exhortation and Reveille (played by Macey from Stockport Schools Brass Bands) and exit of Standards & Escorts.
Light refreshments were served in the West Gallery, provided by Stockport NVA Legacy and served by Gallery staff.
